I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. Yesterday, the teachers participated in a retreat with Monseigneur Sal. It was wonderful to take time to reflect and grow during this Lenten season.
Our focus this week is the digraph th and sight words he, no, away, must, by, there. In math, we will complete chapter 7 this week and wrap up with a test on Friday. We will also begin our life science unit today. Our focus will be on plants and animals leading up to our field trip to the LA Zoo, on April 11th.
We are in need of chaperones for the field trip. It will be a full day trip. Chaperones must be virtus trained and fingerprinted. If you would like to chaperone, please reply directly to this email, first come, first serve.
You can find more information about the virtus training here: (please note we are in the Los Angeles/San Pedro area) https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/ Please find the fingerprinting schedule here:https://www.la-archdiocese.org/org/hr/Fingerprinting%20Schedule/2019-03%20MARCH%20CALENDAR.pdf
I will be attending a training tomorrow, and will not be on campus. Mr. McCarthy and Mrs. Doughty will be with the class.
As a reminder, tardy time will be issued after every three tardies. Students are tardy after 7:50am.
This Thursday is spring picture day. Only students who return the picture order envelope will take pictures. Students taking pictures may wear a spring outfit. Students who are not taking pictures must wear their regular uniform.
Finally, report cards for the second trimester were sent home on Friday. You may keep the report card. You do not need to sign and return it. If you would like to discuss your child’s report card, please contact me to set up a time to meet.
