In the classroom, we are focusing on the digraph ph and sight words just, little, only, do, down, went. Today we started our narrative writing unit. In reading, we will compare and contrast stories and their characters and experiences. We will work with numbers 20 and beyond in math, as well as count to 100 by 5s. We will focus on the story of The Tower of Babel in religion, as well as thanking God for making each person different and special.
Please be sure all permission slips for the LA Zoo field trip are returned this week. The field trip is Thursday, April 11th!
Last week Ms. Garcia, our amazing music teacher, sent an email regarding the class musical shows. On Wednesday, May 29th from 8:15am-10:00am we will have our class shows for kindergarten, second, and forth grade.
You are responsible for your child’s costume for the grade level shows. Our goal is always to do the best you can without paying too much money on costumes. You are welcome to look for costumes in stores and be creative, but please do not feel obligated to spend a ton of money on them. Usually by looking at home and being creative you can come up with a pretty inexpensive, but good-looking costume for your child.
Please refer to Ms. Garcia’s previous email to find the part your child will play. If your child has a speaking part, a script was sent home last week. Please practice at home! Feel free to contact Ms. Garcia at jgarcia@stanthonygardena.org with any questions about the musical.
Your continued support is greatly appreciated. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Ms. Strohm
