We have a very exciting week ahead of us! On Thursday, we will visit the LA Zoo. Please be sure to pack your child a lunch in a bag that is easy to carry. We can not leave lunches on the bus, and students must carry their own lunch until it is time to eat. Students must wear their regular uniform on the field trip, no free dress passes can be used.
Our class will not attend Mass on Thursday, as the bus will leave at 8:45am. We will have time for a snack before we leave. I have attached the information sheet to this email with the answers to frequently asked questions.
Our time in the classroom will be focused on the long a (ape) and short a (apple) sounds. Due to the short week, we will continue with last week’s sight words down, do, went, only, little, just. In reading we will compare and contrast different versions of fairy tales. We will also begin our preparations for Holy Week. In math, we will compare and order numbers to 20.
Please be sure to return the Jog-a-Thon pledge sheet with payment by April 11th, directly to the office. This Wednesday, is the school spelling bee at 8:00am. We look forward to cheering on our kindergarten representatives, Elise and Faith! Beginning Saturday, April 13 (from 6pm) – Wednesday, April 17 (till 5pm) SAP will be hosting a Clothing and Textile Drive. Please leave your donations anytime during this time frame near the garage doors by the Noah’s Ark mural near the grassy area in secure plastic bags. If you have any questions please contact Leah Nakayama at (310) 686-1194 or NakayamaFam2003@gmail.com.

Holy Thursday is a solemn day. The students will have a walking recess and pretzels will be provided for snack. We will also attend the 8th graders presentation of living Stations of the Cross.
