Dear Parents and Guardians,
It’s hard to believe we have reached our FINAL week of school! We graduated our 8th grade class last Friday, and we celebrate all our fathers this morning, at Donuts with Dads in the Hall. Thanks to all our volunteers and Happy Fathers’ Day! We had our Annual Arts Alive recital this past weekend. Congratulations to all our talented Arts Alive students for your hard work this year. Music does make you smarter–and well rounded–and the results are evident in all our English and Math STAR test scores school wide, for which we are extremely proud! In addition to our Music and Theater program with Mrs. Garcia, we look forward to continuing our Arts Alive Jr. High Instrumental program next year for our students in grades 6-8. Thanks for your support! We will continue this program as long as it is valued by our school families, as it is a big, but worthy investment.
Monday and Tuesday, June 10 and June 11 are our last FULL days of school till 3pm. On Wednesday and Thursday, June 12-13, we have 12 NOON DISMISSALS with daycare offered until 6pm. Friday, June 14 is our last day of school before we begin our Summer vacation. On Friday, we have our 3rd Trimester Mass and Awards Ceremony, before teachers pass out the students’ report cards in their classrooms (this is for students whose parents have met all their financial obligations. Report cards will be held otherwise). Then students can leave after the awards ceremony on Friday, 6/14 or leave at noon. Please mark your calendars! There will be a staff luncheon off campus after carline and dismissal, so no events will take place after school that day, and there is NO DAYCARE AVAILABLE ON THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL. Please pick up your children early or make arrangements to have them picked up by someone, so that no one is left on campus after school, and our staff can participate in the luncheon, after they have closed up their classrooms.
We say farewell to Ms. Lozano, Ms. Evangelista, and Sr. Tina Dinh, and we thank them for their service and dedication to our students and families. You have all made an indelible mark on our hearts. We love you all and will miss you greatly. We also welcome our new teachers for next year: Mrs. Dyogi, Ms. Martinez, and Sr. Tho Pham!
On Wednesday, June 12, we have our whole school Sports Day! We hope to see you all there! It should be a fun day, led by Mrs. Rubalcava, our amazing PE teacher. Students may wear PE uniforms or come in appropriate sports attire and comfortable shoes. Please see flyer for more details. Students should wear sunscreen and bring water bottles. We will sell shave ice that day! This Thursday, June 13, is St. Anthony of Padua’s Feast Day and Msgr. Sal’s Ordination Anniversary!
Finally, I am thrilled to announce that St. Anthony of Padua School has been named the Daily Breeze Readers’ Choice Winner for the FAVORITE PRIVATE SCHOOL IN THE SOUTH BAY 2019! This will be officially announced in July, but we wanted to let you know first. I wish to thank each and every one of you for a tremendous year. We made it through together, and created many new memories that will last our children a lifetime. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to Catholic education and investing in your children’s future. Enjoy your summer and see you next school year!
God bless,
Mrs. Grey, Principal
