Dear Students, Parents/Guardians,
I want to wish you all a Happy Labor Day Holiday with your families! We have successfully completed our first 2 weeks of school, and so far, the students have done great with the adjustment of coming back from summer! Students typically need some time to adapt to new teacher expectations and routines, but thus far, all of the teachers have reported that students are taking on the new responsibilities of the next grade level seriously, and we have high hopes for a very successful academic year.
This Thursday, 9/5, is BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT at 6:30 pm in the Hall for all parents/guardians. This is the first of 3 mandatory meetings throughout the year and non-participation for the entire night will result in a $50 fine. Then we’ll have two sessions of information in the classrooms to accommodate those with multiple children: 7pm–7:25pm and 7:30pm-7:55pm. Junior high will be meeting twice as a collective unit in the hall. 6th-8th grade parents may visit classrooms in junior high, but teachers will not do individual presentations in their class. Please be sure to NOT conference with the teachers too much afterwards, so they can go home to rest for the next day of teaching. You will be signing up for October Parent Conferences that night and will be letting teachers know if you want to get involved as parent volunteers. All chaperones and adults working with children must be Virtus-trained with current certification, and ADLA fingerprinted and cleared. Please pick up chocolates in Room 5 from 1:30-2:30pm or 5-6pm. Vicki Marsha Uniform will be selling special edition sweatshirts for a school fundraiser in Room 7, along with uniforms. Coastal Coffees will be selling food and specialty drinks after school till 8pm.
The school will close at 8pm sharp. Parents with multiple children, please coordinate with your teachers to get packets if you can’t attend sessions for all your kids.
Note that there will be NO CHILDCARE from 6:30-8pm, as there are not enough rooms or teachers to accommodate childcare for the whole school that night. Do arrange for sitters, and if you bring children, they MUST stay with you and be supervised at all times.
Finally – a very warm welcome to ALL our new parents and students––especially those in our Kindergarten class whose first full day (7:50-3pm) starts on Tuesday, 9/3! I look forward to many years of partnership as we provide for your child’s religious and academic education together.

ALLERGIES/EMERGENCY CARDS
If your child has any allergies or serious medical concerns, please be sure to notify our office as well as your child’s classroom teacher as soon as possible. Emergency cards and contact info must be current and updated in the office every trimester. WE NEED THE EMERGENCY CARDS RETURNED IMMEDIATELYTO THE OFFICE… This is extremely important in order to make sure we have accurate and updated records for your child. If your child has a medical condition or has allergies, we need to know this up front and have a plan in case of an emergency. Any medication must be self-administered by the child or by you, and permission for us to administer medicine must be in writing. If you haven’t already done so, please sign up on the REMIND app so we can reach you in emergencies.
HANDBOOK/PAPERS SENT HOME
Parents, please read the latest Parent Student Handbook online at our website to be up to date on our policies. Some rules and procedures have slightly changed, so please pay special attention to those changes. All students and parents are also asked to sign the Parent Student Pledge annually.
FORMAL FRIDAYS/SACRAMENTS
As a reminder – each Friday (unless otherwise noted) we have a Student Body Mass where the students dress in FORMAL MASS UNIFORM attire. On days when it is extremely hot, boys are able to wear their uniform shorts. Any changes in dress code is up to the discretion of administration. All those who are not baptized and wish to receive the sacraments this year, please notify your child’s teacher so we can plan accordingly. Thank you!
PLC SERVICE HOURS
Every family is asked to sign up for up to 4 Parent Leadership Committees so you have multiple chances to fulfill your 25 family service hours, valued at $10/hour or you will be charged $250. You may also pay out these service hours as an option, but we do encourage getting involved in our school. Our children love it!
VOLUNTEERS
All visitors on campus must check in and out of the office at all times and wear a VISITOR badge. All Volunteers must be Fingerprinted through the ADLA and cleared, and have a current Virtus Training Certificate. There will be several opportunities to work in classrooms this year to teach art lessons through our Meet the Masters program. Please let your teachers know if you are interested!
