Dear Parents and Guardians,
Monday, 3/16, is a Student Free Day. It will be a working day for staff to plan for distance learning options, during the school closure set for March 17-31, 2020, due to the growing concern to take precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please check emails for your child’s teacher for specific directions and check your classroom blogs daily for more information. The school will temporarily be open for students to pick up books, packets, and personal belongings. Office hours will continue to be 7:30-4pm, unless things change. Administration will stay in touch via emails and the Remind app. This is an unprecedented experience for everyone, so know that we will take things slowly as we transition to this “new normal” together. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience.
The Scholastic Book Fair was set up in the Learning Lab last week, but due to health concerns, we are promoting the online purchasing during this time frame of March 16-20.70% of the proceeds go back to our school for our teachers and our library, so please support the book fair online. It will benefit all of our amazing teachers and we invite you all to support them by shopping online at the link below. You can start shopping from now until 3/20. https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/stanthonyofpaduaschool5
We are thankful to all the parents who attended our 2nd Trimester Mass and Awards Ceremony last Friday. We have a culture of excellence at St. Anthony’s, and when your children are awarded, it is a reflection on them and you as parents, so thank you for your continued involvement, and investment in your greatest treasures, your children. We also want to recognize our 8th graders who have already been accepted into Catholic high schools. We are proud of you!
Our Spring Picture Day scheduled for March 19 will be postponed until further notice. The Parish Mission scheduled for next week is canceled. Stations of the Cross and Fish Fry are canceled until further notice. Please see the last email re: the important message from our Pastor, Msgr. Sal Pilato. May God continue to bless us all this Lenten season and during this time of uncertainty. We continue to pray for Our Blessed Mother’s protection and ask for healing for all those affected by the Coronavirus.
