Dear Parents and Guardians,
This past weekend, we celebrated Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of our church. The apostles received the Holy Spirit and they were inspired to go out into the world to spread the Good News. With all the unrest we are experiencing in our world right now, we as Christians, are called to be a light in the world. Let us pray for the Holy Spirit to inspire us to God’s work, despite the uncertainty we face and challenges before us.
As a reminder, 6/2, is our New Parent Orientation for our Kinder Parents and New Families. A PowerPoint Presentation will be sent out in lieu of an in-person meeting. Crossover Day is on 6/3. Your child will meet their new teacher for next year on that day via Zoom, and your child will get a supply list and summer packet/assignments to prepare them for the next grade level. STAR assessments have been given (unofficially) to determine the skills your child will need to work on over the summer. Please work with your teachers to see what assignments they recommend to close any learning gaps before the fall trimester.
With churches beginning to reopen according to safety guidelines, we have a tentative date for the sacraments. June 13 is the tentative date for First Reconciliation (in our school parking lot) and June 20 is the tentative date for First Holy Communion. Msgr. Sal is open to having a second session for those who may not want to take part in the Sacraments on those dates and would rather wait for a later date in the fall or spring. Please let Ms. Gomez and me know your preference, and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes and schedules.
God bless,
Mrs. Grey, Principal

EARN ONE SERVICE HOUR FROM HOME!
Parents
who review our school online on Yelp, Google, AND greatschools.org will
earn up to one service hour after you send me your screenshots of
all 3 site as proof: to agrey@stanthonygardena.org.
SCHOOL DONATIONS
For families looking to pay off their service hour commitment, our school gives the option to buy Scrip and donate to the school for overhead expenses. We buy a lot of materials and supplies from Home Depot for Beautification of our school, and Office Depot for much needed supplies, so if you buy Scrip valued at $10/hour and donate it to the school to offset costs, we will credit your service hour account. Thanks for your generosity to our school!
