Dear SAP School Families,
It was great seeing all of you at Back to School Night last week on 9/9! I hope you had a chance to learn the policies, procedures, and grading scales set forth by your child’s teacher, even though we are starting the year online. The slide show from our meeting on Zoom is posted online at our school website, in case you wanted to revisit what was discussed. Your teachers have also recorded one session if you have multiple children or want to view your teacher’s meeting again.
On 9/15, we will complete our first STAR testing window. Thanks for helping us monitor your child’s progress. You will receive your child’s first progress report and STAR testing results at Parent Teacher Conferences in October!
This coming Thursday, 9/17, is our Fall Picture day. Please sign up for a timeslot on Sign Up Genius that Ms. Grimaldo emailed out. Online payments are preferred.
Thank you,
Mrs. Grey, Principal

PURE CONFIDENCE
As I mentioned at Back to School Night – I am extremely confident and proud of our team of educators, as well as our family-oriented community. I feel truly blessed to have my own children attending St. Anthony’s and to be a part of such a long tradition of excellence.
WASC/WCEA ACCREDITATION VISIT
We just got word that due to COVID-19, the WASC/WCEA visit will now take place in Fall 2021.
HANDBOOK AND IMPORTANT FORMS
Parents, please read the latest Parent Student Handbook online at our website to be up to date on our policies: http://handbook.la-archdiocese.org/schools/08820 Some rules and procedures have slightly changed, so please pay special attention to those changes. We have also sent out a COVID-19 addendum to the handbook and some distance learning guidelines in an email from our Secretary, Maria Grimaldo. In light of our current pandemic, we created the attached addendum: http://www.stanthonygardena.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/SAP-COVID-Handbook.pdf
And finally, in an effort to aid parents with their role in Distance Learning and lay out clear expectations for Students and their families, please see the Distance Learning Handbook: http://www.stanthonygardena.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/SAP-COVID-Handbook.pdf We hope these documents prove useful to you as we continue in our 2020-2021 school year.
SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS
Effective communication is key, and I do my best to make myself available to meet with students, teachers and parents to ensure the proper educational and social development of your children. To efficiently do this, I ask that you EMAIL me at agrey@stanthonygardena.org to schedule an in-person or Zoom meeting or I can schedule a time to call you. Please allow at least a 24- hour turnaround time for responses, excluding weekends and holidays..
MATCHING FUNDS
If any parents work at a company that offers matching funds to your child’s school (like Boeing, Wells Fargo, etc.) please do keep St. Anthony of Padua in mind. Thank you for your kind consideration! Every little bit helps and we are so grateful for your help.
RALPH’S AND FOOD 4 LESS COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM
Just a reminder that our school is a member of the Community Rewards Programs for both Ralphs and Food 4 Less stores. For the Ralphs & the Food 4 Less Programs, you can opt in for the Community Rewards Program using your Ralphs or Food 4 Less Club Card, by following the directions attached. Please note that there is a different enrollment code for each of these stores, as noted on the directions that Ms. Grimaldo sent last Friday. It is very important that you register the cards as soon as possible prior to the next time you use them, or the school will not receive benefits. Then please have the cashier scan the card or enter your ALT ID every time you make a purchase at Ralphs or Food 4 Less and we will receive a small percentage of each sale! We invite any parents or guardians who shop at Food 4 Less or Ralphs, even occasionally, to consider enrolling as this is an easy way to benefit the school without it costing you anything extra. We thank you in advance for your participation!
EARN ONE SERVICE HOUR FROM HOME!
Parents who review our school online on Yelp, Google, AND greatschools.org will earn up to one service hour after you send me your screenshots of all 3 site as proof: to agrey@stanthonygardena.org. Examples below:
