Dear St. Anthony of Padua Families,
I hope you are doing well! It has been so nice to get to sing and dance with your students on Zoom for the last month and a half! Even on Zoom, their smiles make my day! I’m eager to hear them sing in person again one day. I want to thank you for helping your students to do their personal best! There has been a great amount of joy in music class, even in these tough times and for that I am so grateful!
I wanted to let you know that for next week only, music class will be a little different. Due to Parent Teacher Conferences, there will be NO LIVE ZOOM MUSIC CLASS FOR THIS WEEK ONLY. Students can check Google Classroom (assignment is currently on Google Classroom) and SeeSaw (assignment will be out on Monday) for their assignment. EVERYONE SHOULD COMPLETE THIS ASSIGNMENT BY MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2020.
If a student has any questions or would like to say hello, I will have a Zoom Office Hour from 11-12 on Weds. October 7th, 2020. The Zoom meeting link has been emailed to you.
Lastly, during the month of October we will have a couple of special guests in music class as we explore different careers in the music industry. We will have Mr. Grey speak to 3-5 grade on October 14th and we plan to record that so other grades can watch it as well. Along with Mr. Grey, we will also have a few other guests throughout the month that I am quite excited to have join us. They include: Mr. Ashton and Mrs. Alex Millikin (my cousins, Mr. Millikin plays the drums in an army band and Mrs. Millikin is a piano teacher), Ms. Kristen Choi (she has performed in many Operas and the National Tour of King and I), and Mrs. Stephanie Davies (Performs in Orange County with a variety of singing groups including choir at San Juan Capistrano). They will each be coming to a music class time in October, so make sure you join our regular music Zooms to hear about how they got into music and hear them sing or play some music!
I hope you have a wonderful week and God Bless each of your families!
-Mrs. Jessica Garcia
