Dear Parents and Guardians,
This week is our final week of school before Christmas break. School resumes for all students on January 11. The high needs cohort will continue, but your child’s teachers will notify you directly about when they plan to resume in-person instruction. The Jr. high team will resume in-person instruction for their cohort on January 19. Please note that Monday, January 18, is a holiday, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Today we are having our School Advent Penance Service with Msgr. Sal Pilato, Fr. Joseph McShane, and 2 other visiting priests. If you have a child in grades 3-8, you should have signed up via Sign up Genius for a time slot. This Penance service is for students only. Parents can come to Confession on Saturdays at 6:30pm on campus. Please make sure to socially distance and wear your masks at all times. Be mindful of the two funerals that are happening on campus today.
This Thursday, 12/17, is the Christmas Prayer Service, which is from 6-8pm.. After that we will have the Cash Raffle drawing with the grand prize of $2000. You should have signed up to RSVP if you plan to attend the drive-in prayer service. Families are asked to dress warm in your Christmas red attire, wear your masks, and bring your own battery-operated candles to help us light up the night. I want to thank Mrs. Garcia, the teachers, and staff, Mr. Rubalcava, and the students for all their hard work and dedication to helping us remember that Jesus is the Reason for the Season.
I look forward to seeing you all on 12/17. Even with the lockdown orders, I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable holiday. Please note any travel advisories during the holiday season and follow all county health guidelines. If you travel out of the state or country, and you are in the high needs cohort, we ask you to quarantine for 14 days before you return. Merry Christmas everyone and Happy 2021!
Mrs. Grey, Principal

CHRISTMAS PRAYER SERVICE ON 12/17 from 6-8PM
As the Christmas prayer service approaches this Thursday, 12/17, please be mindful of the information sent home and given by Mrs. Garcia in order to help ensure success for the evening’s program. Thank you to Mrs. Garcia and all our students who have been rehearsing diligently.
IMMUNIZATION REPORTS AND VACCINATIONS
Routine vaccination is an essential preventive care service for children, adolescents, and adults that should not be delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, we have received very few immunization reports back for some students and some 7th graders seem to be missing their more recent TDAP shots. Parents, if you haven’t already, please submit these forms to the office along with your child’s most recent vaccination record. You can email them to Ms. Grimaldo and me at mariagrimaldo@stanthonygardena.org and agrey@stanthonygardena.org.
EXPRESS FEEDBACK FOR GOOD FUNDRAISER 2/1/2021-3/2/2021
Our school has an incredible opportunity to raise funds for our children in a unique, fun, and easy way! We will be sending out more information in the coming weeks, but if you knew you could spend one minute of your time giving your feedback on your favorite products and earn $2 for our school for every survey you did from the safety and comfort of your home on your phone or computer, would you do it? Imagine if each adult in your family over 18 did the maximum of 75 surveys, each adult in your household could earn $150 for our school! Some organizations have raised between $7000 and $81,000! I think we can earn thousands of dollars without having to buy any products or sell anything. Get ready for some fun and healthy competition among classes and families to raise money and harness the power of your social media circles and networks to raise money for St. Anthony of Padua School next spring! Stay tuned for more information.
