Praying that everyone is well! Here are all the information that you and your child will need for next week, 3/1- 3/5

Homework due every THURSDAYS
a. Sight Words
Please make sure your child will use our March menu. For this week, we will review all the 100 words. Your child will choose 6 random sight words from their list every day and will practice them. Kindly make sure your child will choose different words from the list and activities from the menu every day.
b. Raz-kids
All Students will LISTEN, READ, RECORD & QUIZ 2 Raz-kids books.
TESTS
a. Fry’s 1st 100 Sight Words- Oral Test starting on 3/3-3/5
Students must be able to read all the words out loud. Mrs. Ray will test them one-by-one during our class. I will send each student to Mrs. Ray’s breakout room to be tested. Students will be given 3 secs to read each word. You may help your child by reviewing all the sight words BEFORE the test.

School Materials Drop off/Pick up on Friday 3/5- 8am-3pm
Please drop by the school’s front gate by 163rd to drop off the following activities. We will put bins outside the gate for our pick up/drop off. Please make sure that all activities have your child’s name.
Please drop off the following activity:
a. Cultural Diversity Project
You will be picking up a manila envelope that consists of the following:
- Read Across America Boxes Project
- March Handwriting packet
- Reading packet
Please make sure to put this in their binder pocket for easy access. They will need this when they go back to school. All handouts must be in one place and it’s best to put it in their First Grade binder pockets.

10:30-11:15 Group A & B test
Group C & D MUST work on their ST MATH for 30mins
11:15-12:00 Group C & D test
Group A & B MUST work on their ST MATH for 30mins
1:00-1:30- Seesaw- The King’s Song (Read, record & underline all words with long e)
3rd Trimester Expectations
Here are some of the expectations that I am looking out for:
- All first graders should know how to write their FULL NAME.
- The date on ALL assignments (written as March 19, 2019 OR 3/19/19)
- An uppercase/capital letter at the beginning of EVERY sentence.
- Correct punctuations or end mark (period, exclamation point, or question mark) at the end of EVERY sentence.
- All first graders must be able to read Fry’s 1st 100 words without verbal prompts.
- All first graders must be able to write neatly and form letters and numbers correctly.
- All first graders should read for AT LEAST 20-30 minutes every day at home. (NOTE: This means that if the students read one book and it only takes them 10 minutes, they should read another book to complete their 20 minutes of reading as a practice!) Students may use Raz-kids / Epic or any book for practice.
- All first graders must know all our prayers, Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be, Prayer before Meal and Guardian Angel Prayer.
- All first graders must follow zoom rules & school Tribes agreements without being reminded during distance learning sessions.
- All first graders must be able to submit their own work on Seesaw and put it in the correct folder.
- All first graders must be able to independently do their homework on Seesaw, Freckle, Raz-kids and ST MATH.
Cultural Diversity Project
REPORT DUE: March 4th on Seesaw, March 5th Drop off at school
Directions: With help from a parent, students will:
1. Complete the attached report sheet. (where the family’s from, language spoken, draw and color the national dish, flag and the traditional clothing)
2. Using the stencil, cut out and dress up your puppet with the traditional clothing of your culture.
3. Post a picture of your project (back to back) AND a video of yourself telling us about your project on Seesaw on or before March 4th. We will be showing all the videos during class.
4. Drop off the project on March 5th. Please make sure it has your child’s name.

Glory Be prayer video due on March 5th.
Prayer Test “Glory Be”
1. Quietly reflect and recite the prayer.
2. You must video record yourself with your eyes closed, hands together while reciting the prayer. Make sure that your words are loud enough and clear enough for me to understand.
3. Start and end your prayer with the Sign of the Cross. (Use right hand when doing sign of the cross; touch forehead, heart, left shoulder then right shoulder)
4. Submit on Seesaw before 6pm.
