Good Morning Kindergarten Families,
Thank you all for a successful Meet and Greet! Our first day of school is tomorrow, Tuesday, September 6th. Please make sure to read all the information below.
First Two Weeks of School (Noon Dismissal /Daycare available from 12-6 pm)
For the first week of school, Sept. 6th-Sept. 9th, students may wear free dress. Sept.12th-Sept.16th, students should be dressed in uniform. Closed toed shoes must always be worn. Students may arrive as early as 7:30 am and can wait on the blue benches outside the classroom or in the area in front of the classroom. Please, NO running or playing. Students will be marked tardy after 7:50 am.
If your student is late, please get a tardy slip from the office. For security purposes, ALL gates will be closed at 8:00 am daily, after the 7:50 tardy bell rings. Parents will not be allowed in the classroom.
Please NO lingering around the classroom and congregating. This will help transition your child into the classroom. Mrs. Claros and I are excited to begin the day with our Kindergarten friends. Questions regarding Daycare can be emailed to pattie.padilla@stanthonygardena.org and registration forms are available in the office.

COVID Protocol
Prior to the first day of school, September 6th, we highly recommend you submit a negative COVID test for your child. A home test kit may be used on September 5th. Please email me the results. If your child has symptoms or has been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID, please keep them home and notify me via email.
Please review the COVID protocol flowchart.
Parent Communication
Our room parents have set up an app for parents/guardians to communicate and collaborate with each other. The app is called BAND, which can be accessible via mobile app or the browser.
BAND is optional and not required by the school, but it is a very good and helpful channel for resources. The app is going to be managed by our Kindergarten Room Parents and is exclusively for Kindergarten parents/guardians only.
Here are a few things that parents will be using BAND for:
1) Important announcements and reminders
2) Have an open space to ask questions, get tips & ideas, and collaborate with each other
3) Share files (if your child forgot to take home their homework sheet, etc.)
4) Share and download pictures and videos from school activities and events
5) Keep parents/guardians updated when the children are on their field trips
6) Message other parent(s) directly
7) Coordinate and plan for events
If you would like to sign up, please use this link to join BAND for our class: https://band.us/n/aea177h4uf71g For the Name field, please put in Your First & Last Name (Student’s Name, your role) for example: Jeah Avila (Zia’s Mom)
If you have questions about BAND before signing up, please contact Mrs. Avila, our Room Parent lead, at jeahtanavila@gmail.com
