Dear Students, Parents/Guardians,
Thank you to all who attended our in person Mandatory Back to School Night on 9/21. It was great to be together after being on Zoom for the last 3 years for parent meetings! We are happy that almost all families have picked up their chocolates for our Fall Candy Sale by now. You will be invoiced regardless, unless you opted out of this fundraiser, in which case, your child will not qualify for any benefits/prizes (like the BMX show). Please see info about the candy sale sent via email previously.
We had Vision To Learn on campus last week, and all students who did NOT opt-out got screened for vision. This is the last day our VTL mobile eye clinic will be on campus to examine only those who wanted this service. All students who qualify will receive FREE eyeglasses, courtesy of the Shea Foundation! We are so grateful to our generous donors.
Tuesday, 9/27 is our Fall Picture Day. Students in grades K-8 will wear their Formal Mass Uniforms and picture taking will begin in the Hall around 8am with Keys Photography. Order your photos early!
Our Resident Principal, Mr. Lynch, is doing random uniform inspections on campus this week. As stated in our meeting and to your children in person, three (3) uniform infractions equal one detention. Please make sure your child is following all uniform guidelines. We ask all parents to read the Parent Student Handbook with their child and pay close attention to the school’s uniform policy. Administration reserves the right to make the final call on what is appropriate and not appropriate, according to the policy and ADLA uniform guidelines for Catholic schools. Students can express individuality on Free Dress Days, as long as they are within free dress guidelines.
This Wednesday, 9/28, Lorena Lakey will host a Room Parent meeting on Zoom. You will be discussing the upcoming Trunk or Treat event and class mandatory bake sales. Please sign up for the PLCs you would like to serve on (see Angelic Nunez Scott’s Google form) and begin earning your 10 service hours for the first trimester. Each family must serve 30 hours a year or donate items the school needs at a value of $15/hr. There are many opportunities to serve. The school website has more info on the over 20 PLCs you can choose from, along with the names of the leads and their descriptions.
This Friday, 9/30 is our Blue Mass in the church at 8am. It will be followed by a small reception in the hall for our first responders. Student Government members will be in the hall to help host this reception. Thanks to our Hospitality/Welcoming PLC for coordinating this event! 10/3 is the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10am for our new school facilities. Bishop Marc Trudeau and our generous donors will be invited to this milestone event, where we will give school tours at the preschool and our school.
Parents, as a reminder, please do NOT pick your child up early without letting the office and teachers know beforehand. Do also pay special attention to the Truancy Policy in the Parent Student Handbook, as it relates to attendance.

UNIFORMS
Our teachers and administration continue to enforce the uniform policy. Boys and girls should have hair that is neatly groomed. No extravagant hairstyles or colors, natural colors only (no highlights for girls). Boys with longer hair must not have it in their face or covering their eyes or ears (see info in the Handbook about the Crown Act). Girls should not have nail polish, dangling earrings (only one stud earring per ear), or wear jewelry (only religious jewelry allowed). No excessive bracelets on arms, only one simple bracelet (like a rosary bracelet). No ankle socks allowed at all, or prints or fluorescent colors on shoes. 3 uniform infractions will result in a detention and that affects the Work Habits Grade and Citizenship. Please refer to the Parent Student Handbook for the proper uniform guidelines for the 2022-2023 school year. Students may use Free Dress passes if an infraction is given, and they will be excused. Administration reserves the right to make the final decision on uniforms.
PLC SERVICE HOURS (30 hours per family each year)
Per your tuition contract, every family is asked to sign up for up to 4 Parent Leadership Committees so you have multiple chances to fulfill your 30 family service hours, valued at $15/hour or you will be charged. If you have questions, please email the office. We will email other service hour opportunities. Thank you to all who donated water bottles to the office and earned service hours! The Italian Catholic Federation is helping with Thanksgiving baskets in November, and volunteers are needed, let me know if you are interested.
VOLUNTEERS
All visitors on campus must check in and out of the office at all times and wear a VISITOR badge. All Volunteers must be Fingerprinted through the ADLA and cleared, and have a current Virtus Training Certificate. AM and PM carline, daycare, and lunch yard duty volunteers (from 12-1 daily) are needed. Please sign up for the Interior Maintenance PLC for service hours that can be earned on certain Saturdays from 12:30-3:30pm. You can also donate Scrip at the front office for school expenses. You may buy out your hours for $15/hour for Scrip such as Home Depot, Office Depot, Target, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, and Starbucks. Thanks!
