Dear Students, Parents/Guardians,
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break with your families. This past Sunday marked the first week of Advent! As we prepare for Christ’s birth, we want to remind you to check the parish bulletin for information on the Sacrament of Confession for adults. Our School Penance Service takes place for students in grades 3-8 on campus every Monday, on a rotating basis.
We will begin to send out Kindergarten applications for next school year to the St. Anthony Preschool families this week, and we also invite the siblings of all current SAP families to turn in their Early Bird Kindergarten applications, if they have a qualifying sibling that wants to attend our Kindergarten next year. Open enrollment is in March 2023 to the public, but we are pleased to offer this for our St. Anthony families first. If you have a family member or friend you would like to refer to our school, please let us know and we can consider early bird registration for them as well.
Last week we had our annual Student Teacher volleyball game. The faculty and staff had a blast playing against the Volleyball Girls A Team. Both teams won one set each, and the staff won the 3rd game. It was a tough game and everyone had so much fun!
Our All School Mass and 1st Trimester Awards Assembly will take place in the Church this Friday, 12/2, starting at 8am. As a reminder, we ask that all who enter our church, the House of God, should be respectful at all times. Men should remove their hats, and there should be no gum chewing, eating of food or drinking in the church. During the awards ceremony, we ask that you hold your applause till the end of the calling out of names for each class.
Our All School Holiday Raffle Fundraiser continues nowthrough December 9 (when all monies are due), and the winner will be announced at our Christmas program in the church on 12/15. Please look out for more information re: our fundraiser from Ms. Angelic Nunez-Scott.
As we prepare for our Christmas show on 12/15 at 6pm, we ask that all rules be followed. Families will be invited, but, (per Msgr. Sal’s request,) guests for this program in the church will be limited to ONLY students of the school, their siblings, parents, and grandparents. Please give a head count for your family attended to your child’s teacher so they can reserve seats for your family. Please have dinner before you come to the Christmas program that day. No food will be served that evening. More info about the Christmas program will come from Mrs. Garcia, our Music teacher.
This Saturday, 12/3, our SAP Folklorico Team will be at the Palos Verdes Christmas Parade at 6pm. Hope to see you there!

ADOPT A FAMILY SERVICE PROJECT (Nov-December)
Our SAP Community has been invited to Adopt-A-Family this Christmas! Meet the Perez Family: Leonila and Pedro are the mother and father of five children from ages 17 years to 8 months. They have been struggling with finances since the pandemic. Learn more about each family member by clicking here on the Sign-up Genius. We are inviting you, the parents and students of our SAP community, to purchase just one item to help bring joy to this beautiful family in need. Each class has been assigned to a particular member of the family. The Sign-up Genius will have the latest information on what items are still needed for each member of the Perez Family and specific instructions regarding bringing in your wrapped gift to your child’s classroom. Use this schoolwide Sign-up Genius to designate which items you would like to buy.
SCHOOL DONATIONS AND SERVICE HOURS
For families looking to pay off their service hour commitment, our school gives the option to buy Scrip/gift cards and donate them to the school. We buy a lot of materials and supplies from Office Depot, Walmart, and Target for much needed supplies, so if you buy Scrip valued at $15/hour and donate it to the school to offset costs, we will credit your service hour account. Parents who volunteer on Saturdays (every 2-3 weeks) can earn service hours cleaning our school with the Interior Maintenance PLC. Please join the group! Please see the email blast that was sent out re: the dates when the Interior Maintenance PLC will meet. Thanks in advance! The next date is Saturday, 12/10 from 12:30-3:30pm at the school.
SCRIP
One easy way to help you reach your $500 financial commitment is to purchase Scrip throughout the year. We accept credit cards in the office for your orders making it easier than ever! It’s basically buying gift cards to purchase things like groceries, gas, gifts, or things you need and want on a daily basis, but you can get fundraising credit for a portion of every gift card you buy! Work smarter, not harder! We have Scrip for Starbucks, Vons, Albertsons, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Gardena Supermarket, and so much more!
KINDERGARTEN EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION IN DECEMBER
Starting December 1, we will be offering EARLY BIRD applications to St. Anthony Day Nursery Families and siblings of current SAP School families for incoming Kinder students for the 2023-2024 SY! Open Enrollment for other families begins 3/1/23. Please spread the word!

RALPH’S AND FOOD 4 LESS COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM
Just a reminder that our school is a member of the Community Rewards Programs for both Ralphs and Food 4 Less stores. For the Ralphs & the Food 4 Less Programs, you can opt in for the Community Rewards Program using your Ralphs or Food 4 Less Club Card. Please note that there is a different enrollment code for each of these stores. It is very important that you register the cards as soon as possible prior to the next time you use them, or the school will not receive benefits. We invite any parents or guardians who shop at Food 4 Less or Ralphs, even occasionally, to consider enrolling as this is an easy way to benefit the school without it costing you anything extra. We thank you in advance for your participation and thoughtfulness!
EARN ONE SERVICE HOUR FROM HOME!
