Dear SAP Parents and Guardians,
HAPPY NATIONAL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS’ WEEK!
Catholic Schools’ Week began this weekend with our Family Mass at 11am in the Church yesterday, and it was a perfect day. Our Annual Open House was a huge success! It was so beautiful seeing you all and watching our students in action. The teacher displays and student work in our new classrooms were simply amazing. The Folklorico, piano, and music ministry performances were outstanding! I want to thank Amy Lucas Palanca for helping us coordinate Our Open House. Thank you for your hard work and to all the parents who set up, decorated, cleaned up, and made us so proud to be a part of this SAP School Family!
Today we celebrate our students for Student Appreciation Day! We have Chick Fil-A, Pajama Day, and no homework! Tomorrow is Teacher Appreciation Day, Wednesday is Administration Appreciation Day. Then we look forward to celebrating our parents on Thursday 2/2 in the morning with coffee and donuts. Please join us! Some students from last year’s theater cast will be going to Frozen in Orange County on 2/2 at Segerstrom. Then Friday 2/3 is Special Person’s Day. Students can invite someone 18 or over to join them. We have Mass together at 8am, then students can be signed out at the classroom before brunch in the hall from 9:45-11 (if you prepaid for a meal from the 8th grade fundraiser). Otherwise, bring your own food and drinks and eat on campus. That day is a noon dismissal. Please see the flyer sent home with more information on dress up days and celebrations this week. We have much to celebrate in Catholic Schools!
We continue with our Spring Fundraiser: Express Feedback for Good (EFG) till 2/17. We are doing a great job with our feedback! Our goal is to earn $40,000 for our school and I know we can do it! Each brand survey you do online is worth $1.60. Please spread the word. Each adult (18 and over) is encouraged to become a “Superstar” by doing 75 brand opinions from the comfort of their phone/device. There are no products to sell and it costs nothing, only your time! Each survey takes about a minute. You and your family and friends will earn 2 service hours for each Superstar designated to your child. I will send a daily update from now till the end of our campaign.
Our 2nd STAR testing window will continue from now through February 7. We will have one more STAR testing window at the end of the year to measure student progress. Progress reports go home on February 8, which is the same day as our 2nd Mandatory General Parent Meeting. Please attend in person to avoid a $50 fine for non-participation.
Teaching Touching Safety (TTS) lessons will be completed by this Wednesday, 2/1. Thank you all for your cooperation in safeguarding all our children.
Blessings,
Mrs. Grey and Mr. Lynch

SAP STUDENTS GIVE TO THOSE IN NEED 1/30-2/3/23
Good Shepherd Center is in need of basic hygiene supplies. They have specifically requested toothpaste, toothbrush, and shampoo/conditioner of any size for their centers and mobile outreach program. This center in Los Angeles is run by Catholic Charities with Sr. Jennifer as their director and Sr. Rosaline as their outreach person. Both sisters are members of the Lovers of the Holy Cross Sisters. Please see the attached flyer for more information. They would greatly appreciate our support in their mission of serving Christ in the poor. Thank you and God bless.
SCHOOL DONATIONS AND SERVICE HOURS
For families looking to pay off their service hour commitment, our school gives the option to buy Scrip/gift cards and donate them to SAP. We buy a lot of materials and supplies from Office Depot, Walmart/Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Starbucks, and Target for much needed supplies, so if you buy Scrip valued at $15/hour and donate it to the school to offset costs, we will credit your service hour account. Parents who volunteer on Saturdays (every 2-3 weeks) can earn service hours cleaning our school with the Interior Maintenance PLC. Please join the group. Thanks in advance!
IMPORTANT EARLY REGISTRATION and RE-REGISTRATION INFO for RETURNING FAMILIES
Mark your calendars for Feb 21-24: Re-Registration for current students will take place that week. All registration forms can be filled out online! Stay tuned for more information from Mr. Aguilar. Those with registration holds will be notified by Mr. Aguilar. New Kindergarten Registration is now happening for preschool students and siblings of current students. Congratulations to all our new students who have been accepted to our school for the 2023-2024 school year!
