Dear Parents and Guardians,
Happy Monday, parents! I hope you and your family are savoring another extended weekend because of a faculty retreat. There is NO SCHOOL for students today. We will see you tonight at the 8th grade fundraiser from 3-9pm at the Chuck E. Cheese in Torrance! Hope you can show your support. An email blast went out with the flyers for discounts to be used tonight.
Our final spring fundraiser: Express Feedback for Good (EFG), ended on Tuesday, February 2/21. Although the school performed fantastically, we regrettably fell short of the $40,000 goal we had set. We succeeded in raising $35,017.60. That still represents a significant achievement. There were 715 overall sign-ups, and a total of 21,886 of projected feedback were received. As you are all aware, an ice cream and pizza party will be given to the Top three classes (and teachers) that were the most engaged and energetic. The first-grade Awesome Firsties, with 91 signups, are in third place, with estimated input of 3,208 and projected value generated of $5,132.80. The Fourth-grade Chillers, with 124 signups, 3,538 estimated feedback points, and a projected value of $5,660.80, are in second place. The Holy Hobbits (6th grade) took first place with 127 signups, 4,022 estimated feedback scores, and a projected value of $6,435.20! Congratulations to the top three classes. In addition to the pizza and ice cream party with the students, the teachers of the three top classes will also receive a $50 gift card of their choosing. They may wear a free dress on the celebration day. As for the top 3 families, which will be revealed shortly. Thank you all for your incredible support and participation. This fundraiser allows us to keep all the proceeds with zero expenses, so we are grateful for this opportunity, as it’s not guaranteed to us every year.
We had a lovely mass that was held last Wednesday to mark the beginning of Lent. Due to this Lenten path, we will have an all school Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent at 1:15pm, followed by Benediction. Stations of the Cross will also be held at St. Anthony of Padua Parish every Friday evening, along with a Fish Fry from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. As a reminder, please do your LAUSD online survey using the link Mrs. Ray sent out. This is due by March 3. It’s important that we get 100% compliance, as this info generates funding for our school! If you send your child’s teacher a screenshot of the submission page, your child will receive a Free Dress pass. You also got the parent survey link. Mr. Lynch and I would love to hear your feedback. The positives are always wonderful to hear, and we also like hearing ways we can improve your experience here at SAP. We look forward to your suggestions as well.
We want to thank our Interior Maintenance PLC for helping us keep our school clean. Our parents came in this Saturday and the school looks great! We are grateful to Ms. Claudia Guzman and Ms. Pricilla Ortiz for their help in leading this committee.
Thank you to all for re-registering your students for next school year on FACTS last week. Open enrollment to the public begins on March 1. If you did not register, your child will be automatically waitlisted. Those on a registration hold may not register until your hold is lifted. All accounts must be current in order for your child to re-register as well. Finally, Yearbooks are now $40. Reserve your hardcover Yearbook now by sending a check made payable the School with an order form.
Blessings,
Mrs. Grey and Mr. Lynch

SCHOOL DONATIONS AND SERVICE HOURS
For families looking to pay off their service hour commitment, our school gives the option to buy Scrip/gift cards and donate them to SAP. We buy a lot of materials and supplies from Office Depot, Walmart/Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Starbucks, and Target for much needed supplies, so if you buy Scrip valued at $15/hour and donate it to the school to offset costs, we will credit your service hour account. We are always in need of Yard Duty, Daycare, and Traffic PLC volunteers.
IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFO for RETURNING FAMILIES
Feb 21-24: Re-Registration for current students took place last week. All registration forms need to be filled out online via FACTS. Thanks for your patience with our new system. If you have questions, please email Mr. Aguilar. Those with registration holds may not register for next year until your hold is lifted. Open Enrollment to the public begins 3/1/23. Those not registered will be automatically waitlisted.
KEEPING HANDS TO SELF, PERSONAL SPACE
Students have been reminded multiple times by me and their teachers that they need to keep their hands, feet, and all objects to themselves. If students are touching each other in any way, it could lead to detention or a referral. Please see the handbook. Remind your kids to keep their hand to themselves and stay in their bubble/personal space at all times. This is becoming a safety issue.
CELL PHONES NOT ALLOWED, SOCIAL MEDIA NOT A GOOD IDEA
Parents, please note that no student in our K-8 school needs a cell phone. We have landlines available for their use. If a child is seen using their cell phone on campus it will be confiscated and will result in a referral on the progressive discipline chart. Your child’s use of devices should be limited at home and should only be used with direct supervision. Access to social media is NOT a good idea. Please monitor your child’s use at home. If their behavior online violates our Acceptable Use Policy, there will be serious consequences.
