Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are now into the third week of Lent, and what a beautiful time to continue to discipline ourselves by fasting from all things that separate us from God and feasting on things that are pleasing in His Sight.
Every Friday in Lent, we have an all school Stations of the Cross at 1:15pm in the Church, followed by Benediction. Stations of the Cross will also be held at St. Anthony of Padua Parish every Friday evening in the church at 7pm, along with a Fish Fry in the Hall from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $9 after Mass. Price goes up at the door. Just a reminder that this Friday, 3/10 will be the end of the second trimester. Gradelink was blocked since last Friday 3/3, so teachers can finalize their report card grades and comments. Please check in with your child to see that they are doing their assignments and turning them in, and reaching their AR and ST Math goals. If they need help, please set up a meeting at any time with their teachers for help and guidance.
Open enrollment to the public began last week on March 1. If you did not register, your child will be automatically waitlisted. Those on a registration hold may not register until your hold is lifted by administration. All accounts must be current in order for your child to re-register as well. Finally, Yearbooks are now $40. Reserve your hardcover Yearbook now by sending a check made payable to the School with an order form.
Our Talent Show is this Thursday at 1pm in the Hall. More information will come from Mrs. Garcia. We can only fit 200 people in the Hall, so seating is limited, and we have over 240 students. We are so proud of all our children for being brave enough to share their God-given talents with all of us.
The 2nd Trimester Report Cards will go home after the trimester is over. The 2nd Trimester Mass and Awards ceremony will take place in the church on 3/24 after the 8th graders return from their trip to Catalina. We look forward to announcing our Top Winners for the EFG contest and scheduling our Pizza and Ice cream parties for the Top 3 classes. In the next few weeks we will also begin giving you more info about our annual Fiesta scheduled for May 19-21!
Blessings,
Mrs. Grey and Mr. Lynch

SCHOOL DONATIONS AND SERVICE HOURS
For families looking to pay off their service hour commitment, our school gives the option to buy Scrip/gift cards and donate them to SAP. We buy a lot of materials and supplies from Office Depot, Walmart/Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Starbucks, and Target for much needed supplies, so if you buy Scrip valued at $15/hour and donate it to the school to offset costs, we will credit your service hour account. We are always in need of Yard Duty, Daycare, and Traffic PLC volunteers.
IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFO for RETURNING FAMILIES
Re-Registration for current students is now complete. All registration forms need to be filled out online via FACTS. If you have questions, please email Mr. Aguilar. Those with registration holds may not register for next year until your hold is expressly lifted by administration. Open Enrollment to the public began on 3/1/23. Those not registered will be automatically waitlisted.
KEEPING HANDS TO SELF, PERSONAL SPACE
Students have been reminded multiple times by me and their teachers that they need to keep their hands, feet, and all objects to themselves. If students are touching each other in any way, it could lead to detention or a referral. Please see the handbook. Remind your kids to keep their hand to themselves and stay in their bubble/personal space at all times. This is becoming a safety issue.
CELL PHONES NOT ALLOWED, SOCIAL MEDIA NOT A GOOD IDEA
Parents, please note that NO student in our K-8 school needs a cell phone. We have landlines available for their use. If a child is seen using their cell phone on campus it will be confiscated and will result in a referral on the progressive discipline chart. Your child’s use of devices should be limited at home (the doctor recommendation is 2 hours a day) and should only be used with direct supervision by a trusted adult. Do not let your child sleep with a device. Access to social media is NOT a good idea. Please monitor your child’s use at home. If their behavior online violates our Acceptable Use Policy, there will be serious consequences. NO EXCEPTIONS.
