Dear Fifth Grade Families,
I pray and hope you are all doing well. Third trimester began yesterday, March 13. Grades were finalized and concluded as well. Few more months and our 5th graders will be off to middle school. To end the school year strong, here are some reminders:
* Arrive on campus on time and prepared for the day;
* Turn in homework and classwork on time.
* Must reach both AR and ST Math Goals.
* Ask questions/clarifications if needed.
* Always do personal best.
The following information was sent before we end the second trimester. Please read them again.
ST Math and Accelerated Reader (AR) Expectations
ST Math and AR are part of your grade. If point goals or progress are not met, it will be a letter grade down of your final work habits grade.
Attendance
Please make every effort to have your child at school on time each day. They should be in line on the yard on/before 7:50AM every morning. Any time after 7:50AM will be marked tardy.
Excessive absences or tardies will be recorded and affect their work habit grade. If necessary, will be reported. Many lessons cannot be retaught entirely or made up sufficiently. We sincerely value attendance because it directly relates to progress and success. I/We want your child to succeed.
Please try to make any medical/dental appointments for after school and/or on non-school days.
NOTE: Excessive tardies and unexcused absences (3 each trimester) will be a letter grade down on their final work habit grade of that trimester. This means it will affect their CITIZENSHIP.
Pauly’s Project (5th Grade Lenten Project)
Many Catholics spend that time on the three practices of Lent: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. This season of Lent our 5th graders would be asking/collecting donations for the homeless. This is one way of us serving others in need. We would like for your friends and families to help us fulfill this charity work.

Thank you and God Bless,
Ms. Garcia
