Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. We welcome back our 8th graders from their Catalina trip! Our 3rd and 4th graders also had a great time at the Natural History Museum last week. The third trimester is now in full swing, and we look forward to our second trimester Mass and Awards Ceremony this coming Friday. At 8 a.m., Mass. Everyone is invited to join and acknowledge this incredible achievement. Msgr. Sal, our pastor, will be visiting classrooms after to pass out report cards to our students. We hope you will join us and look forward to honoring your students for their hard work!
Yesterday was the Feast of St. Joseph. St. Joseph is the patron saint of the Universal Church and families. Let’s pray to St. Joseph so that he will strengthen the bonds between our families and lead us to greater unity and peace during this Lenten season.
Every Friday in Lent, we have our all school Stations of the Cross at 1:15pm in the Church, followed by Benediction. Stations of the Cross will also be held at St. Anthony of Padua Parish every Friday evening in the church at 7pm, along with a Knights of Columbus Fish Fry in the Hall from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tickets are being sold at the front office. Please join us in the hall on 3/24. Our school will also be selling drinks and desserts this Friday. Thank you to Ms. Melendrez for leading this effort!
On March 30, Spring Pictures will take place. Our K-5 students are also going on a field trip to see Shrek, the play. Unless they’re taking official photos, students will come to school in regular uniform that day. Those K-5 students in Sunday best for the photos will bring a SAP sweater to wear over their outfits if they are going to the Shrek field trip so they are identified as SAP students. On 3/31 from 9:00 to 10:00 am is 8th grade pictures, students must wear their cap and gowns. Must wear their Sunday best underneath their cap and gown. There are NO makeups for this shoot.
Open Enrollment to the public began on March 1. If you did not register, your child is automatically waitlisted. Those on a registration hold may not register until your hold is lifted by administration. All accounts must be current in order for your child to re-register as well. Finally, Yearbooks are now $40. Reserve your hardcover Yearbook now by sending a check made payable to the School with an order form.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Stay tuned for activities in classrooms to help us remember to be advocates for our children and keep them all safe. This week is the Annual Lenten Parish Mission Retreat, led by Dominican Father Brian Mullady.
Blessings,
Mrs. Grey and Mr. Lynch

SCHOOL DONATIONS AND SERVICE HOURS
For families looking to pay off their service hour commitment, our school gives the option to buy Scrip/gift cards and donate them to SAP. We buy a lot of materials and supplies from Office Depot, Walmart/Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Starbucks, and Target for much needed supplies, so if you buy Scrip valued at $15/hour and donate it to the school to offset costs, we will credit your service hour account. We are always in need of Yard Duty, Daycare, and Traffic PLC volunteers.
FIESTA WRISTBANDS (worth $120 each) and SIGNUPS
Msgr. Sal has decided to hold a raffle for the Fiesta wristbands. 2 students from each class can win a wristband worth $120 for all 3 days of unlimited rides at the Fiesta. To qualify for the raffle, a student must have earned Citizenship for the first and second trimester. From that pool of students, there will be 2 winners from each class. Those who qualify but did not win, can purchase a wristband at half price for them and an adult chaperone, so 2 wristbands at $60 each. Mrs. Pattie Padilla, our daycare coordinator is also helping with Fiesta. She will have sign up sheets for the families to sign up for their mandatory 8 hours starting today, 3/20 in Rm 7 from 4pm-5:30pm.
KEEPING HANDS TO SELF, PERSONAL SPACE
Students have been reminded multiple times by me and their teachers that they need to keep their hands, feet, and all objects to themselves. If students are touching each other in any way, it could lead to detention or a referral. Please see the handbook. Remind your kids to keep their hand to themselves and stay in their bubble/personal space at all times. This is becoming a safety issue.
CELL PHONES NOT ALLOWED, SOCIAL MEDIA NOT A GOOD IDEA
Parents, please note that NO student in our K-8 school needs a cell phone. We have landlines available for their use. If a child is seen using their cell phone on campus it will be confiscated and will result in a referral on the progressive discipline chart. Your child’s use of devices should be limited at home (the doctor recommendation is 2 hours a day) and should only be used with direct supervision by a trusted adult. Do not let your child sleep with a device. Access to social media is NOT a good idea. Please monitor your child’s use at home. If their behavior online violates our Acceptable Use Policy, there will be serious consequences. NO EXCEPTIONS.
