Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 3rd week of Easter! Last week our 8th grade students experienced their Thousand Pines Retreat, and the 7th graders also experienced their day retreat last Tuesday at Santiago Retreat Center. The Junior high teachers chaperoned the trip and all involved had a wonderful time to grow spiritually with our students! This weekend our Folklorico group competed in the Lawndale Youth Parade and won 3rd Place! Congratulations to our team under the leadership of Ms. Martha Zambrano. Well done!
On Saturday, 4/22, our 2nd graders and school children who were preparing for the sacraments this year received Jesus for the very first time in First Holy Communion! It was a beautiful milestone event, and the students all looked angelic as they received Our Lord and Savior in the Real Presence of the Eucharist. Special thanks to Ms. Gomez and our instructional aides for their hard work with our children to prepare them for this sacrament.
This Friday, 4/28, we have our All-School Mass in the church at 8am. We are also now past the halfway point of the 3rd trimester! Progress reports go home via email from your child’s teacher this Wednesday, April 26. Please sign and return a copy to your child’s teacher.
Our 3rd and final mandatory General Parent Meeting is scheduled for May 3 in the Hall at 6:30pm. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at agrey@stanthonygardena.org. We will be announcing the top 2 students from each class who earned the wristbands for Fiesta. To qualify for this drawing, the students should have earned the Citizenship Award for 2 consecutive trimesters this school year. Those who are not chosen may still buy a Fiesta wristband for $60 for themselves and one adult chaperone, so basically 2 for 1. Regular price for all others will be $120 per wristband, good for all rides for 3 days. More info will be given at our May 3 meeting. Ride tickets go on sale next weekend to the public after Masses. Our Parish Fiesta is coming up May 19-21. May 15-17 we have Noon Dismissals for Fiesta Set up. There is NO SCHOOL for students May 18, 19, and 22. Please plan accordingly.
Our Interior Maintenance PLC will have its next 2 cleaning days on Saturday, April 29 and May 6 from 12:30-3:30pm.. You can earn up to 3 service hours each time you help. Please contact Claudia Guzman at cm.Guzman.a@outlook.com or Priscilla Ortiz at: ortizpriscilla39@yahoo.com.
May 12 is Mary’s Day and our May Crowning, led by the 8th graders.
Our New Parent Orientation is on May 25 on Zoom at 6:30pm.
Open enrollment to the public began on March 1. If you did not register, your child will be automatically waitlisted. Those on a registration hold may not register until your hold is lifted by administration. All accounts must be current in order for your child to re-register as well., Yearbooks are $40. RALPH’S AND FOOD 4 LESS COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM
Just a reminder that our school is a member of the Community Rewards Programs for both Ralphs and Food 4 Less stores. For the Ralphs & the Food 4 Less Programs, you can opt in for the Community Rewards Program using your Ralphs or Food 4 Less Club Card. Please note that there is a different enrollment code for each of these stores. It is very important that you register the cards as soon as possible prior to the next time you use them, or the school will not receive benefits. Then please have the cashier scan the card or enter your ALT ID every time you make a purchase at Ralphs or Food 4 Less and we will receive a small percentage of each sale! We invite any parents or guardians who shop at Food 4 Less or Ralphs, even occasionally, to consider enrolling as this is an easy way to benefit the school without it costing you anything extra. We thank you in advance for your support.
