Dear SAP School Families,
I pray you all had a Glorious Easter Break! Yesterday, 4/7, was Divine Mercy Sunday. We thank Jesus for His Mercy and his blessings. Our All School Mass is today, Monday, 4/8, the Feast of the Annunciation. Students are asked to come to school in their Formal Mass Uniforms today. On Holy Thursday, our 8th graders led us beautifully in the Live Stations of the Cross in the Hall. It was wonderful to see many of our school families at Santiago Retreat Center on Good Friday for the hike to the top of the hill commemorating Jesus’ Way of the Cross. We also got to visit the Shroud Center there. It was magnificent to see.
Our 7th and 8th graders will be going this morning to Washington, DC. Our trip is from April 8, through Friday, April 12. This trip occurs every 2 years. Special thanks to Veronica Patel for coordinating our trip! I will be a chaperone, along with Mr. Richardson, Ms. Gomez, and Mrs. Rubalcava. In my absence, Mr. Reyes will be in charge. He returns today from his paternity leave. We are so happy to have him back!
This week our All School Marian Consecration begins. It runs from April 10-May 12, and culminates on May 13 with May Crowning led by our 8th graders, on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. We encourage you to entrust your families to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through his Blessed Mother Mary. Teachers will give you detailed info on this beautiful activity, and we encourage all families to participate at home together, for so many special graces.
Thank you for voting for St. Anthony of Padua as BEST School in the South Bay again! Voting began March 8 online for the Daily Breeze and ended yesterday on April 7. We will begin our Hundred X Express Feedback for Good (EFG) Spring fundraiser soon, which will take the place of Jog-A-Thon fundraising requirement (on your tuition contract) this year. That campaign runs for a month from May 1-30. We have been approved for a $20,000 fundraiser. Monies will go toward an upgrade of our camera security system and upgrade to our school Wi-Fi services.
Many Blessings,
Angela Grey, Principal
Mr. Reyes, Co-Principal

INTERIOR MAINTENANCE PLC and SERVICE HOUR BUYOUT
Please sign up for the Interior Maintenance PLC for service hours that can be earned on certain Saturdays from 12:30-3:30 p.m. You can also donate Scrip at the front office for school expenses. You may buy out your service hours for $15/hour for Scrip, such as Home Depot, Office Depot, Target, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, and Starbucks. Next year, the price goes up to $17/hr to keep up with inflation and CA’s minimum wage.
MONTHLY EMERGENCY DRILLS
Our school has at least one safety drill per month. Please discuss procedures and your family’s plan with your children in the event of a fire, lockdown/intruder alert, or earthquake when they are at home. Thanks to all our staff members and students for preparing our students. We ask them to always act like it’s real.
VOLUNTEERS
All visitors on campus must check in and out of the office at all times and wear a VISITOR badge. All Volunteers must be Fingerprinted through the ADLA, cleared, and have a current Virtus Training Certificate. AM and PM carline and lunch yard duty volunteers (from 12-1 daily) are needed. Please email me at agrey@stanthonygardena.org if you are interested. For safety reasons, please call before you come to the office and buzz yourself in. Do not prop the door open for anyone, especially strangers. All parents are welcome to join the SAFETY PLC to increase security on our campus.
