Dear Kinder Families,
Happy 14th week of Kindergarten! Last week, we celebrated our Kindergarten Thanksgiving Party and it was filled with such happiness and gratitude! I reflect on how thankful I am, for each and every one of my students and their families. This is our last week of school before Thanksgiving break! If you miss a weekly newsletter, you can always check out my class blog at http://www.stanthonygardena.org/kindergarten/ !2nd Trimester Expectations
This week is the start of our 2nd trimester. Kindergarten did an AWESOME job and I’m very proud of them! This is an exciting time, but it is also a time when our expectations grow to further our preparations for the next grade level. Here are some of the expectations that I am looking out for:
- All Kindergarteners should know how to write their FIRST NAME, using an uppercase/capital letter to start followed by lower case letters.
- First name and number on ALL assignments (part of work habits grade).
- An uppercase/capital letter at the beginning of EVERY sentence, correct spacing between words and use of a punctuation mark.
- Kindergarteners should know the phonetic sound of ALL the letters.
- All Kindergarteners should know some of our prayers, Sign of the Cross, Guardian Angel, Hail Mary and prayer before meals.
- All Kindergarteners should follow all classroom rules, bathroom rules and school-wide Tribes agreements without being reminded inside and outside the classroom. This includes keeping Hands, Feet and Objects (HFO) to ourselves respecting everyone’s personal space.
- All Kindergarteners should turn-in their green homework folders every day in order to help them be more responsible.
The Kindergarteners are doing a great job with this so far, and I want them to continue to work on being more responsible each and every day!

Our First Trimester awards will be in the HALL this Wednesday on 11/20/24. Parents, I have emailed you separately if your child is receiving an award. Parents with multiple children in different grade levels may stay for both awards ceremonies. The space in the hall is limited, so 1-2 people (parent/guardian) per child may attend.
