Dear Students, Parents/Guardians,
This week begins our Hawaiian Raffle Fundraiser, which runs from Nov. 13-Dec. 6! Unless you opted to pay your $500 financial commitment upfront, you will be given at least $200 worth of Hawaiian Raffle tickets per family, for a chance to win a trip for 8 days and 7 nights to my home state of Hawaii!
Tickets are to be sold between now and December 6 (our drawing will take place after the annual Christmas program in the church on Monday, December 9). The monies for these tickets are due by Friday, December 6, and are part of your mandatory fundraising requirement for the year. For those of you who opted out of fundraising to fulfill your financial commitment and have rolled the $500 fee into your FACTS tuition payments, you may return your unsold tickets to the front office. In both cases, however, we strongly encourage you to call aunts, uncles, grandmas and grandpas to help support our school in the sale of these raffle tickets. You can earn a chance to win a trip for 8 days and 7 nights to beautiful Hawaii! This is just one of four suggested ways to pay down your $500 financial commitment for the year. This is our most popular fundraiser because you get credit for every dollar you sell.
As we near the Thanksgiving holiday, please note that our school will be partnering up with our parish to collect non-perishable items for our Food Drive initiative. Our parish distributes food baskets to the needy every year at this time. Please remember the spirit of the Thanksgiving season, as well as our Christian calling to serve others. Bring in canned goods for your class by 11/22. Thank you for your generosity in helping families in need this holiday season. Our parish Thanksgiving food drive will take place in the Hall on Tuesday, 11/26.

INTERIOR MAINTENANCE PLC
Thank you to Claudia Guzman and Priscilla Ortiz for leading our Interior Maintenance PLC. Their committee worked hard this weekend to clean our classrooms. If you want to earn family service hours and only have time to serve on the weekends, this is the perfect committee for you! You can also donate cleaning items on the wish list for service hours. Please contact the office if you are interested in joining or helping this important PLC. Thank you!
BAKE SALE INFO
REMINDER: every family must attend at least one bake sale per child each year (2 bake sales at the max if you have multiple children). You can sign up for any of the bake sales below if you missed your class’s bake sale. If you do not participate this year, or if you sign up and don’t come, there’s a $50 fine. You must stay your whole shift. If you can’t attend your assigned date, you must sign up in advance with room parents in charge of the rescheduled date.
SCRIP
One easy way to help you reach your $500 financial commitment is to purchase Scrip throughout the year. We accept credit cards in the office for your orders making it easier than ever! It’s basically buying gift cards to purchase things like groceries, gas, gifts, or things you need and want on a daily basis, but you can get fundraising credit for a portion of every gift card you buy! Work smarter, not harder! We have Scrip for Starbucks, Vons, Albertsons, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Gardena Supermarket, and so much more!
ROOM PARENT MEETINGS/PARENT SOCIALS
Parents in respective classrooms are welcomed and encouraged to schedule their own class meetings and social gatherings. This builds community and a sense of welcoming for new families. Any concerns and solutions can be brought to parent advocates like room parents and PLC leads and this can be presented to administration. We are also open parent concerns and seek to solve problems together in a productive way.
PLC HOURS
Each family must serve 25 service hours a year that will benefit our school. When you registered you picked your top 4 committees. It is YOUR responsibility to fulfill these hours to avoid being billed at the end of the school year ($10/hr), not your PLC Leads’ responsibility to find you to volunteer.
REFERRAL INCENTIVE
There is a wonderful incentive for you to refer NEW families to our school. If you want your friends to know about us, we offer a $150 referral incentive per new family (not per student) who is accepted and remains in good standing. We can credit that amount to your tuition/fundraising account or give it to you in the form of Scrip: $75 at Christmas, and $75 at the end of the school year in June. You must request this incentive if you have referred families who bring added value to our school –– it is not automatic. Thank you for help in growing our school to attract the best families around.
