Welcome to the Second Grade Home Page!
Welcome to our 2nd grade family here at St. Anthony of Padua School! My name is Mrs. Angelica Gomez-Contreras, I have over 20 years of experience working with children through teaching and coaching softball. I have taught kindergarten, 4th grade and have taught 2nd grade for 9 years now. This is my eighth year teaching here at St. Anthony’s. I am an alumni of the school and lifelong parishioner. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and my Masters in Education at Loyola Marymount. I am happily married with Mr. Contreras and have two children that attend this school. I love camping ad spend most of my free time on the softball and soccer field with my kids.
It is a tremendously exciting time to be a student, parent, or faculty member at Saint Anthony of Padua. The students in the second grade will continue to build a community and learn Christ-like conduct in an academically rigorous classroom in which learning objectives and standards are addressed daily within the context of our school’s Student Learning Expectations. I take great pride in preparing my students for the sacrament of Reconciliation and First Communion.
The students in my class will be working together to form a compassionate community of learners who exemplify Jesus Christ’s teachings. Additionally, we will have many fun and enriching classroom activities and projects. I sincerely look forward to forging partnerships with parents in order to best serve our school’s children.
Thank you and God bless you,
Angelica Gomez-Contreras
