Dear SAP School Families,
I sincerely pray this email finds you and your family well. In light of yesterday’s announcement from CA Governor Gavin Newsom, please find a letter to you, our families and school staff from our ADLA Superintendent, Paul Escala. Please click on one of the links below to view/print a PDF of the full letter.
Given the outcome of yesterday’s announcement, the Department of Catholic Schools is asking us to focus our attention on our distance learning plans and preparing for the start of the new school year at distance.
The governor’s mandate affects about 90% of California’s students, including ours, since we are in the county of Los Angeles. It also comes with revised guidance from the California Department of Public Health. When we are able to return to in-person instruction, our collective ability to ensure the guidance is carried out will be essential to open safely and remain open.
On behalf of our entire faculty and staff, I want to express our deepest gratitude and support of us, during yet another period of disruption. This announcement comes with mixed emotions for all of us. Through all of what we’ve experienced these past several months, the one constant we have come to rely on is our united faith in Christ and our belief in the power of hope. All our ADLA schools have demonstrated incredible resiliency through the most challenging time in modern history. We have come so far despite these challenges and our belief in our students, families, staff and God will present another opportunity to show our fortitude and succeed.
Despite this widespread decision to continue distance learning temporarily, I am confident that our incredible teachers are ready and able to welcome our students to a new school year. We will continue our vital ministry to serve our families effectively, and we are determined to make the best of an unfortunate situation.
Until we return to campus, we remain honored to be able to work with your children and create a strong community of learners who are faithful followers of Jesus. Our mission stands to prepare students for College, Career, and Heaven, and we are grateful to be partners with you in this journey together.
Please find Paul Escala, our School Superintendent’s letter below.
God bless,
Mrs. Grey
