Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you had a great weekend with your families. I’m sure you have heard by now about the CA Governor’s new stay-at-home orders that are in effect this week, due to the spike in COVID-19 cases across the state. To be clear, our school is allowed to continue offering our high needs cohort. However, some teachers may be living with someone at home who is considered a high-risk individual or they are high risk themselves, so in an effort to be mindful of their home situation, they may be contacting you directly to inform you if they will continue remote learning for the next 2 weeks before Christmas break or not. Regardless, if you and your family do not feel comfortable having your child come to school in-person, we completely understand. Just please let your child’s teacher know ASAP. Our school will be taking the same safety precautions as before.
This Tuesday, we will celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Over the weekend, we will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Saturday, 12/12! Our Christmas Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, 12/17 from 6-8pm on campus. Mrs. Jessica Garcia has sent out a Sign Up Genius for families to RSVP with their attendance. We can accept up to 110 cars on school grounds, first come first serve. We look forward to seeing you there! Please remember to follow all safety protocols (stay in your car, wear a mask and keep socially distanced if you must get out, and stay home if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. We invite you to decorate your cars for Christmas (be creative)! We also hope you will bring LED, battery-operated candles for each of your family members to use so we can light the night sky from the safety of our cars. Please also feel free to dress up in Christmas attire, and have your children wear Christmas Red to keep our tradition alive!
The Cash Raffle drawing is also next week, Thursday, 12/17, after the Christmas prayer service, which starts at 6pm. See you there! Please continue to sell those tickets between now and December 11, when monies are due for this fundraiser. You can schedule a time to drop off your sold tickets (stubs) in the office to qualify for the drawing. Our last day of school is 12/18, and school will resume on January 11. Depending on the safety mandates from the state, we will keep you posted on our reopening plans for all our K-8 students.
If you wish for your K-8 child to receive the sacraments of First Communion and Reconciliation this year, we need your child’s baptismal certificate in the office no later than December 11 by noon.
Saturday, January 16, is our Kindergarten Round-Up (Zoom interviews and ESGI online testing) for new Kinder students from St. Anthony’s preschool and siblings of current SAP students. All other general applicants must wait until March 1, 2020 to be considered. Only those accepted will be able to attend the Kindergarten Registration Night on Thursday January 21 – Early Kinder registration for accepted students at 6:30 pm on Zoom. Turn in your paperwork and $50 application fee early to avoid disappointment. If accepted, you will secure your child’s seat in the 2021-2022 Kindergarten class by the end of February 2021!

TEACHING TOUCHING SAFETY (TTS FORMS DUE by 12/11)
We are very happy each year to conduct the “Teaching Touching Safety” Classes to our students. This is a course that we teach by mid-February each year, and it covers an age-appropriate curriculum to bring awareness to students regarding issues of sexual abuse and dangers. It teaches them the lines of “appropriateness” within particular contexts and how to avoid and respond to possible situations that could endanger them. *PERMISSIONS SLIPS WILL BE SENT HOME THIS WEEK AND MUST BE RETURNED BY FRIDAY, December 11. Thanks in advance!St. Anthony – Pray for us
