Greetings Parents and Guardians!
Can you believe that Christmas Season is almost upon us? This year has flown by as usual! The students and I are beginning to prepare for our annual Christmas Program.
This year, we will be performing A Candlelight Processional! The Candlelight Processional is a collection of songs, stories, and acting that plays homage to the birth of our Savior!
THE CANDLELIGHT PROCESSIONAL, IS ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2021, AT 6:00PM IN THE CHURCH. STUDENTS NEED TO BE IN THEIR CLASSROOMS AT 5:30PM THAT EVENING. It is imperative that they show up on time and in costume! PLEASE BE PUNCTUAL AND ON TIME! Students will receive a grade for this performance, so encourage them to do their best (please see #4 below for additional COVID-19 protocols)!
This year, due to COVID-19 we ask the following of you:
- Attendance will be limited to immediate family (parents or guardians, brothers, sisters) and grandparents. Please stick to this rule.
- Please wear a mask and keep it on while inside any buildings. Students should come with a mask and will be given another mask once they arrive in the classroom. They can wear the mask given to them so they have matching masks with their classmates.
- Once in the church, please stay in your seats as much as possible. We will NOT be allowing you to move around to take pictures. Please take pictures from your seat. Mr. De Leon will be taking official pictures of the night and we will share them with each of you. We also will be filming the performance and we will be happy to share the link to download the video once it has been edited. There will also be a live stream for anyone else who might want to see the show.
- This is a “required” performance, however, if your child is sick or showing symptoms of Covid-19, we ask that they stay home. Please email Mrs. Jessica Garcia (email@example.com) and they will be excused from the performance.
Before the show, TastyBlock (Hawaiian shaved ice) will be on campus serving shave ice, ice cream, coffee, and donuts from 3-6pm. Please support our school by buying some great food! You can enjoy your treats by the brown benches, but please finish them before entering the Church.
I have attached a flyer about the performance and below is some information about costumes. The students will not need to bring or wear their costume until the night of the actual performance. Please have them dressed and ready to go! If you are an 5th grader in the Nativity, you will need to create a traditional nativity costume. I do have some nativity costumes in room 5, so please let me know if your student would like to look at them.
K-8th Grade (Excludes 5th): You will be wearing Poinsettia (Christmas) red! Boys should dress in nice dress shirt tops (Red) with black dress pants (NO JEANS), and black shoes and socks. Girls can either wear a red formal dress with leggings (socks or tights in tan, white, or black) and black dress shoes. Or they can wear a red blouse with a black skirt, white tights and black dress shoes. Hair should be nicely done. For the girls, make sure it looks nice and formal.
