Dear Students, Parents/Guardians,
Thank you to all who attended the SCRC talk this Saturday, 10/29 on Spiritual Warfare. Those who attended will not be fined $50 and will also earn 2 service hours. There was a sign in sheet and you must have attended the whole event from 10-4:30pm. If you attended the 10/22 event you will also earn 2 service hours. There is one more chance to avoid a $50 fine for non-participation. 11/8 is the talk on how Pope John Paul II changed the world. It will be in the Hall from 10:30-12. Please RSVP via email to Mrs. Grey and/Mrs. Ray if you plan to attend. This is a mandatory parent faith formation event, as stated on your tuition contract.
I want to congratulate our middle school students on a job well done last week! Our College Fair was a huge success! Mrs. Dyogi has been working hard with our middle school students and it all paid off. Thank you to all the parents for joining us in the Hall as well.
Our Fall Candy Sale ended last Friday, 10/28. Congratulations to all the winners of two Trojan Drawings and to our overall top sellers! Thank you all, especially to Angelic Nunez-Scott and Monica Torres, our Fundraising PLC Leads for helping to raise money for our recent renovations to our school. Our school share of the renovations was $110,000, and we still have more to raise to break even on our portion. We have our Cash raffle in December and Express Feedback for Good fundraiser in January-February. We thank you in advance for your support of our school!
For our Halloween celebration today, please note that there will be a 12 Noon Dismissal, with an 8th grade fundraiser after school (food items). Daycare will be offered only till 3pm today. Don’t forget tomorrow 11/1, is All Saints’ Day! We will have a Mass at 8am and a procession with all the students walking in from the back in their saint costumes. All students should be dressed as saints on Tuesday, 11/1. No need to have elaborate or expensive costumes.
Here are some Halloween Reminders to help today run as smoothly as possible. This event is for SAP students only. All students (and adults volunteering for Trunk or Treat) may dress in their favorite appropriate Halloween costume and must follow these guidelines. The events are for students only. Adults working at or volunteering on campus for Trunk or Treat may earn up to 4 hours for decorating their trunks and helping to pass out candy from 8-12.
- Costumes must be appropriate and pre-approved, or a student may be sent home to change.
- Costumes should be child-friendly. No inflatables, no gory or scary costumes, no devils, or demonic looking costumes.
- Costumes Should Not:
- Be obstructive, offensive, inappropriate for a Catholic school (skimpy or revealing), evil, or violent
- Drag on the ground
- Contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another person.
- Contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
- Encourage cross-dressing. Boys dress up like boys and girls dress up like girls.
Students have to be able to sit down in their seats and come to school already dressed in their costumes. Junior high students will attend Mass this morning and can change into costumes, if they so choose. Students will bring their own bag/pail for Trunk or Treat. Masks may be worn for the parade only, but they must not obstruct vision and eyes must be visible at all times. Masks will be taken off after the parade and picture taking. Please be sure costumes meet all these guidelines.

4 MANDATORY MEETINGS THIS YEAR (See Tuition Contract)
Parents, when you registered online the last 2 years, we have had on our tuition contract 4 mandatory parent meetings. 3 are General parent meetings in Sept, Feb, and May. We added one mandatory parent faith formation meeting around November, per Msgr. Sal’s request. He eventually wants to do this once a month or every other month next year. For this year, we are offering an event on 10/29 on Spiritual Warfare, which is long, so we will also give you 2 service hours for attending this event only. Those who cannot make it or choose not to attend that event have the option to attend another event a week earlier on 10/22 called the Truth of the Cross. A third option is to attend a speech during school hours on John Paul II in the Hall with the Junior high students. It’s on 11/8 from 10:30-12. All 3 options are available to parents to meet this mandatory requirement and not be fined $50. 2 SERVICE HOURS will ONLY be given for the 10/29 event, along with one free ticket to that event.
ALL SAINTS’ DAY ON NOVEMBER 1
The day after Halloween, all students and staff are invited to dress up as saints. For the 8am Mass, all K-8 students will process into the church from the back, dressed up as a saint. Families are welcome to join us for this special Mass.
