Dear SAP School Families,
October is the Month of the Rosary. We encourage you all to pray the rosary daily with your families for many graces from our Blessed Mother. Last Friday, 9/29 we had our Annual Blue Mass honoring our first responders. We are grateful to our Hospitality and Welcoming PLC for preparing the reception in the hall for our honored guests. Student Government members helped greet them, and they were all very impressed by our student leaders. Thanks to our all Hospitality/Welcoming PLC parent volunteers, led by Francisca Gonzalez, Claudia Guzman, Raine Manguiat, and Amy Lucas Palanca for coordinating this wonderful event!
Parent-teacher conferences begin today through 10/5. This week, dismissal is at noon daily. Daycare will still be available from 12:15-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, due to the parent-teacher conferences. Please bring your child with you if it’s feasible, especially for those in grades 3-8. Parents should have scheduled parent-teacher conferences with their child’s teacher at Back to School Night. 10/6 is a Student Free Day, NO SCHOOL for students. Conferences will continue that day via Zoom for parents who were not able to schedule from 10/2-10/5. Teachers will be working that day, but students will stay home on Friday, and there is NO DAYCARE on Friday, 10/6. We will be having our All School Mass this Wednesday, 10/4, on the Feast of St. Francis. Students must wear their Formal Mass Uniforms to school. Any questions about uniforms, please refer to our Parent Student Handbook or follow specific directions from your child’s teacher.
There will be NO basketball practice this week. Volleyball will have practices Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 1-3 p.m. for this week only, due to the noon dismissal. Professor Egghead will be after school on Wednesday. 12:30 PM – Egghead Explorers and 1:45 PM – Egghead Super Structures
Congratulations to all our winners in the Trojan Drawings #2 and to our overall top sellers! We will continue to sell chocolates this week so that your child can participate in the Magic Show on 11/9. Lunch will also be provided for all those who sold one or more boxes above the minimum requirement of 4 boxes on 11/9. The final day of the Fall Chocolate Sale is 10/13. All monies are due by 10/27.
Thank you and God bless,
Angela Grey, Principal

If you have questions, please email the office. We will email other service hour opportunities.
VOLUNTEERS
All visitors on campus must check in and out of the office at all times and wear a VISITOR badge. All Volunteers must be Fingerprinted through the ADLA and cleared, and have a current Virtus Training Certificate. AM and PM carline and lunch yard duty volunteers (from 12-1 daily) are needed. Please email me at agrey@stanthonygardena.org if you are interested. For safety reasons, please call before you come to the office and buzz yourself in. Do not prop the door open for anyone, especially strangers. All parents are welcome to join the SAFETY PLC to increase security on our campus.
HFO (Hands, Feet, and Objects) to Self
Safety is first and foremost. Please remind your child to keep their hands, feet, and all objects to themselves. They can stay in their bubbles and personal space so they stay safe and keep others safe as well. Please teach them at home about “air hugs” and “air high-fives” so they don’t actually make contact with others. We are seeing too many injuries and too many accidental touching among students that lead to more serious issues. That said, if a student receives multiple verbal warnings about this, it could result in a conduct slip or detention. In more serious issues or repeat offenses, a referral or suspension. Please remind your children about the importance of self-control. Also, for all grade levels, there is no sliding on the soccer field.
INTERIOR MAINTENANCE PLC and SERVICE HOUR BUYOUT
Please sign up for the Interior Maintenance PLC for service hours that can be earned on certain Saturdays from 12:30-3:30 p.m. You can also donate Scrip at the front office for school expenses. You may buy out your hours for $15/hour for Scrip such as Home Depot, Office Depot, Target, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, and Starbucks.
UNIFORMS
Our Resident Principal Mr. Reyes continues to do uniform inspections on campus. He, along with your child’s teacher, will monitor uniforms daily. As stated in our meeting and to your children in person, three (3) uniform infractions equal one detention. Please make sure your child is following all uniform guidelines. We ask all parents to read the Parent Student Handbook with their children and pay close attention to the school’s uniform policy. Administration reserves the right to make the final call on what is appropriate and not appropriate, according to the policy and ADLA uniform guidelines for Catholic schools. Students can express individuality on Free Dress Days, as long as they are within the free dress guidelines.
