Dear SAP School Families,
Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed your well deserved Christmas break. Thank you for all the generous gifts you gave to our faculty and staff. We are all so grateful for you, and are thankful to celebrate Jesus’ birth as a school community. We celebrated the Epiphany and the Feast of the 3 Kings this weekend. Like the Three Kings, may we realize that Jesus is Lord as well. We continue to celebrate the Year of Grace together.
Thank you to all who participated in our Winter Fundraiser Holiday Cash Raffle, and congratulations to all our winners!
Over the break, some parents notified us that 5 of our SAP students were chosen as winners for the Gardena Mayme Library Bookmark contest. We have not yet received official word from the library, but we wanted to congratulate the students below:
- For the Grade K-2 Category: Angelina Navarro (2nd Place) and Arleth Ambriz (3rd Place)
- For the Grade 3-5 Category: Calista Layug (3rd Place)
- For the Grade 6-8 Category: Kunie Morimatsu (2nd Place) and Isabella Sapanza (3rd Place)
Before the break, we advised that we had received Covid-19 Antigen Kits for in-home testing.
The FREE Covid-19 test kits were available before the break. If you need additional tests, please check the office to see if there are any left. These are given out on a first come, first serve basis, depending on availability.
Thank you all for participating in our school-wide Adopt-a-Family Christmas Service Project. We made some families very happy this Christmas season!
Please keep Mr. and Mrs. Reyes in your prayers, as they are getting ready to welcome their first child into the world any day now. The baby’s due date is the first week of February, but Baby Reyes can come at any time. We pray for a safe and healthy delivery for Mom and Baby. Mr. Reyes may take some time off for paternity leave, and we wish him and his growing family all the best.
Many Blessings,
Angela Grey, Principal
Gabriel Reyes, Co-Principal

VOLUNTEERS
All visitors on campus must check in and out of the office at all times and wear a VISITOR badge. All Volunteers must be Fingerprinted through the ADLA, cleared, and have a current Virtus Training Certificate. AM and PM carline and lunch yard duty volunteers (from 12-1 daily) are needed. Please email me at agrey@stanthonygardena.org if you are interested. For safety reasons, please call before you come to the office and buzz yourself in. Do not prop the door open for anyone, especially strangers. All parents are welcome to join the SAFETY PLC to increase security on our campus.
INTERIOR MAINTENANCE PLC and SERVICE HOUR BUYOUT
Please sign up for the Interior Maintenance PLC for service hours that can be earned on certain Saturdays from 12:30-3:30 p.m. You can also donate Scrip at the front office for school expenses. You may buy out your service hours for $15/hour for Scrip, such as Home Depot, Office Depot, Target, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, and Starbucks. Next year, the price goes up to $17/hr to keep up with inflation and CA’s minimum wage.
MONTHLY EMERGENCY DRILLS
We recently had an emergency school safety drill; an intruder alert/lockdown drill. Our school has at least one safety drill per month. Please discuss procedures and your family’s plan with your children in the event of a fire, lockdown/intruder alert, or earthquake when they are at home.
EARN ONE SERVICE HOUR FROM HOME!
Parents who review our school online on Yelp, Google, AND greatschools.org will earn up to one service hour after you send me your screenshots of all 3 sites as proof: to agrey@stanthonygardena.org.
