Dear SAP School Families,
Last Thursday we had our Annual Talent Show in the Hall. I am so proud of all our students who practiced their performers and entertained us so well! We are happy to have them share their God-given talents with our school. Special thanks to Mrs. Jessica Garcia and all our teachers, parents, volunteers, and students for being wonderful supporters of our performers!
We thank all the families who joined us for our 2nd Trimester Mass and Awards Ceremony last Friday. Students received their report cards that day. We are now beginning our 3rd and final trimester of the school year. Congratulations to our 8th graders who have been accepted into Catholic high schools already. We are so proud of you!
Yesterday was Daylight Savings, so we change our clocks to “Spring Forward!”
Today, March 11, is a STUDENT FREE DAY (NO SCHOOL or DAYCARE)due to our Lenten Faculty Retreat with Msgr. Sal. Our faculty and staff will start with 8am Mass, have our retreat, and then go to South Bay Galleria to watch the 11:15am showing of the movie Cabrini. It is rated PG-13, so we invite you to join us with your children at your discretion. The reviews are wonderful, and this movie is based on the life of St. Frances Cabrini, an American saint. If the movie is sold out for that time, please try to watch a different showing.
Wednesday, March 13 is St. Patrick’s Day! Students may come to school in Green tops and Jeans or appropriate free dress bottoms.
As a reminder, every Friday in Lent we have our 1:30pm all school Stations of the Cross in the church. The Lenten Fish Fry and evening Stations of the Cross are every Friday in the church so you can attend with your family. Please see the church bulletin for more details. Knights of Columbus Fish Fry tickets are for sale after Mass on weekends and in the school office at $10 presale, $12 at the door. Thanks to all who supported our 8th grade fundraiser in the Hall at the Fish Fry on March 8!
Our 6th graders will be going to Santiago Retreat Center this Friday, March 14 and our 7th graders will be going to Catalina Island from March 15-17. We pray for your safe travels. Thank you to all the teachers and chaperones who made these trips possible. Spring break is just around the corner, and we will prepare for our 8th graders’ retreat at Thousand Pines and the 7th and 8th grade trip to Washington, DC! It’s an exciting time for our SAP students!
Families, please mark your calendars for “Mass with Father Figures” on March 19, the Feast of St. Joseph. More info will come from your teachers. Looking ahead, our “Mass with Mother Figures” will take place on April 26.
We are happy to welcome back Monica Harmon on March 20 to do 3 different grade level assemblies on Bullying Awareness and Prevention. We ask that you are also talking to your children about being kind every day to each other, and if they hurt someone, to ask for forgiveness. If someone hurts them, they can also forgive those people, as the Lord’s Prayer teaches us. Let’s continue to forgive those who trespass against us this Lent and every day. The sacraments are calling us, so please make it a point to also go to Confession as a family (preferably once a month). It’s a beautiful gift from our Lord!
Mr. Reyes will return to school after the Easter break. When we see him again on campus, his daughter will be 2 months old!
Our All School Marian Consecration will take place April 10-May 12. We encourage you to entrust your families to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through his Blessed Mother Mary. Teachers will give you info on this beautiful activity. We hope to get all families to participate together at home.
Many Blessings,
Angela Grey, Principal

Please discuss procedures and your family’s plan with your children in the event of a fire, lockdown/intruder alert, or earthquake when they are at home. Thanks to all our staff members and students for preparing our students. We ask them to always act like it’s real.
