Dearest Parents and Guardians,
I can’t believe October is almost ending and November is around the corner! Hoping you had a blessed weekend with loved ones and friends. Please note announcements/reminders that follow. Attached is our Newsletter as well.
-Saint Costumes/Report: Hopefully you are able to find something that is most fitting for your child’s Saint. Please have them ready in full saint gear on Thursday, November 1st for our All Saint’s Day School Mass. Please have a simple name tag for your child that states the name of their saint. The costume is part of their Saint Report and Religion grade. Currently, we are in the process of editing our Saint Report in class after a full week of planning and drafting last week. I’m looking forward to see how they grow as writers!
–Updates on HW handouts: For convenience and also to save paper, I’ve included their Behavior Chart on the backside of their Weekly Newsletter. In addition, I’ve also copied their Reading Log to the back of their High Frequency Word Packet. I hope this simplifies the stress of managing papers…Thanks!
-Math and Reading Assessments: Tuesday-Thursday’s math homework will be sent home tomorrow. Their math homework will be practice for their Math Test on Friday. There will also be an assessment on their reading skills this Friday as well. I will be assessing their ability to ask and answer questions about key details in a story, an objective we have been focusing on the last 2 weeks.
-Parent Retreat/Formation Meeting: Just to clarify, this meeting is for the parents. If possible, please make arrangements for a sitter before coming. Thanks! Please mark your calendars with the dates below! If your child is receiving the sacraments this year, the meetings are a crucial part of your participation. The dates and locations are:
-Saturday, October 27th from 9:15am-11:00am in the Hall
-Saturday, January 5th from 9:15am-11:00am in the Hall
-First Holy Communion Mass: Scheduled for Saturday, March 30th, 2019. More details to come at our Parent Retreat/Formation Meeting this weekend.
-Thanksgiving Drive: We are now taking donations for the Thanksgiving basket drive in the hall from all our students. If you have canned foods that you would like to donate, you can drop them off in our 2nd grade classroom. Thanks!
Thank you for all you do and God Bless!
-Sr. Tina
