Hello Families!
The kids had a great first week back at school from the break! They were working hard on close reading and asking and answering great questions about the story we are reading! To keep you updated on how they are doing and how you can help your student succeed more in class, I created a slide show this week with glows (something they did well) and grows (something they can improve). I also included each student’s missing/late assignments, and AR and ST Math goal status. If they have missing/redo tests and quizzes have them come in on Tuesday to make them up.
Announcements
As usual, weekly agenda is attached below.
Tardies
As per the K-3 policy, 5 or more tardies makes a student ineligible for citizenship. Please make sure your child is coming to school on time before the bell rings!
Life Cycle Projects
Science project information was passed out on Monday. Their trifold poster (can be found at dollartree) is to be done at home and is due Thursday 1/25. Attached is a pdf of the instructions.
GradeLink
If you see ‘IC’ on your child’s grade, kindly read my comment. Your child must turn in the missing work or make up test or quiz within a week points will be deducted. All missing/ make up work should be turned in by Thursday, January 18th. Progress report will be released the week after.
Catholic Schools Week Special Person’s Day
Feb 2, 2024, Friday is noon dismissal and Special Persons’ Day. Students may be checked out of school beginning at 9:45am and then sit with their special person in church for the 10:00 am Mass. Those with no special person invited will stay with the teacher. Students are free to leave after Mass, if already checked out of school. PLEASE fill out special person form attached below!
Parent Questionare
I welcome feedback on how our year is going and how together we can make Third a good year! I believe it is best practice to take a moment to reflect with kindness: to rejoice in goodness, and to learn how to be better for one another. I am not a perfect person, but a willing servant of God. Please fill out this anonymous reflection to help me better know how I can support parents and students. I appreciate you and may God bless you and your family.
